Committee meeting 13^th March 2008 7pm

Present: Angela Cunningham, Joe Azizollah, Nigel Jupp.

Agenda:

Training- complaints about too many and too great an age range on Wed eve

Matches- match every Wed evening up until 23^rd April

Juniors- too many too young

Summer-what to do about the summer term

Next year- fees, match night, juniors, seniors, teams, contributions from members

Training: Can’t do much for this season but next year plan to arrange matches on Sunday afternoon at QE. On afternoons when no senior matches are planned junior tournaments and matches to be arranged.

Matches: nothing we can do this year, but we will book indoor sessions up until mid-June to compensate.

Outdoor sessions will commence as soon as weather permits….May, after cup finals.

Juniors: Ales and Sue are fantastic and the juniors an integral part of the club. We need to implement an age restriction immediately. No junior under the age of 12.

We also need to establish some club discipline.

Summer: Booking 12 weeks indoors 2^nd April – 18^th June

There will also be outdoor sessions at Totteridge Tennis Club on Sunday afternoons (weather permitting) and after the 18^th June Wed evening as well (bar open!)

Tournament ideas and opinions to be gleaned and discussed asap!

Next year:

Fees: To be discussed and decided at the AGM. Fees need to pay for court and equipment. All members are encouraged to suggest alternate ways to fund these extra expenses.

Matches-most matches to be played on Sunday afternoons at QE (or alternative venue to be sought if necessary)

One (exhibition!) match per month at QE for inspiration from men’s and women’s teams

A Fourth Mixed Team to be offered friendly matches to be arranged by Joe (and a volunteer?)

All members need to contribute.

VK is a completely voluntarily run club.

No person is paid for any coaching, accounting, match fixtures, junior organisation, refereeing organisation, or club management!!! It is all done by players who pay their fees termly.

Players need to ref, score (see Joe for training!) coach, socialise and play.
